Description |
The Dancing
Bear Ranch subdivision consists of over 2,500 acres of rolling
topography situated in the Texas Hill Country in Medina and
Bandera counties, 26 miles northwest of downtown San Antonio. The
terrain offers gentle rolling hills that overlook beautiful Medina
Lake.
Dancing Bear Ranch consists of three tracts of land: Dancing
Bear, Dancing Bear II, and Lake Side (bordering Lake Medina).
|
|
Dancing Bear Ranch |
Dancing Bear Ranch is situated in Medina County, bordering Bandera County to the northeast. This tract of land is currently under development by Baruch Properties and Post Oak Development. |
|
Dancing Bear II |
Dancing Bear II is comprised of 1,175 acres in Bandera County with direct access to FM 1283 to the south. This tract has unparalleled views of Medina Lake and the surrounding Hill Country and is currently planned as an upscale resort community. This tract is currently under study by the engineers for topographic characteristics and for optimal lot layouts. |
|
Lakeside |
Lakeside is a 75-acre tract of land located south of FM 1283 in Medina County with direct access to Medina Lake to the south. The tract will be mixed-use with a lakeside condo project and additional commercial development.
There are plans to build a marina and boat ramp on the south
portion of the tract. Dancing Bear Ranch residents will have
membership privileges including access to marina and boating
services such as boat repairs, boat storage, gas services,
restaurants and a tackle and gift shop. These services will
also be made available to the public. |

Amenities |
Amenities that are to be part of the overall residential
subdivision are a central water system, underground electricity
and telephone, and limited access gates. In addition, a
clubhouse for residents, complete with a swimming pool, was completed
in 2007.
A well was drilled in the extreme northern portion of Dancing Bear Ranch and produces water of excellent quality. The well is now complete and will supply water for the first 300 to 500 lots in the subdivision. There is sufficient water capacity to serve the remainder of the master planned Dancing Bear development. The water distribution system includes a water well, chlorination, a large-capacity elevated water storage tank and distribution pipelines. Based on a flow rate of .6 gallons per minute per connection, this well can adequately serve 583 lots. A planned 60,000-gallon water storage tank will provide water storage for the entire 2,500 acres when developed. An additional well and other storage tanks are planned for the future development phases.
Access to the well site and storage tank will be via an all-weather road through an easement. The well site is at an elevation of 1,520 feet, nearly the highest natural elevation in the development.
